Services
I'm experienced and reliable across the entire learning design process - and I'm happy to be involved in all stages of this or just one, depending on the client need.
When ID skills are required, I've got a proven track record of delivering excellence. I'm constantly curious, and keen to apply myself on all manner of projects - regardless of complexity or size.

Here are some other things I can bring to the table...

Workshop delivery
Harnessing the collective knowledge and experience of those involved in a project is crucial in creating a solution that is inclusive and impactful.
From empathy mapping with pilot groups to concept ideation with key stakeholders, I’m in my element.
And with the evolution of synchronous online tools, it's easier than ever to:
-
replicate important aspects of face-to-face workshops in an online setting
-
capture insights (both during and after the main session)
Storyboarding
Armed with the insights gleaned from the discovery phase, it’s time to get to work on the meat and bones of the solution.
A solid storyboard not only acts as a blueprint to set client expectations and fine-tune messaging, but clearly conveys to the coding and AD team what is required to translate the content into an engaging, fully functional eLearning package.
Storytelling
Storytelling has been used for millennia to communicate life lessons, and the L&D community is increasingly au fait with its power to engage emotions and trigger lightbulb moments.
Just as marketeers rely on storytelling techniques to establish and maintain a customer base, we can garner by-in for new ways of working. Recognisable, compelling characters should be based on data-informed personas of learners and their influencers. These are key to a well-crafted script or narrative, as well as to the success of eLearning and the campaigns that promote its consumption.
Copywriting
Words can be unruly; tame them to dance to your tune.
Whether it's a website to woo, a compelling campaign, or a box-fresh blog post – I'm here for it. The clout of your copy is key in commanding and sustaining engagement. Heavy traffic is what you're after, and every word counts. 'Copy that.'
I go the extra mile to get what your brand's about so that your audience gets it too.
Curriculum mapping
Be it a bitesize module or an entire programme, overall flow is everything. Instruction needs to align with the desired goals, and - if it's going to stick - should be coherent, cohesive and digestible.
I structure content in a way that helps learners to connect the dots and fire up new neural pathways. Clients can expect a comprehensive concept document that outlines how.
Course building
I’m proficient in using intuitive apps, such as Articulate RISE, and have developed plenty of courses with such software. Sometimes, however, more advanced coding skills are required to achieve the level of complexity / UX dictated by a project’s specification.
In all cases, having a solid grasp of the parameters of the authoring tool in hand enables me to design content that remains within these - while also pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.
Behavioural science
Learning trends come and go. Let's focus on the evidence and the things that we know drive sustainable change. The first step in solving a client's complex business issues is to understand why their people behave as they do. They may well already have the abstract know-how, but what is preventing them from applying this in in their real-world roles? Tapping into people's on-the-ground experience helps to identify the capabilities, opportunities and motivational shifts needed to push things forward.
Mentoring
A background in language education schooled me in the mutual benefits to be gained from supporting someone else’s growth. And, as a lifelong learner myself, I’m adept at stepping inside the shoes of a newbie and helping them identify how to shine their brightest.
I'm super grateful for the mentorship I’ve received, and am well-equipped to pay it forward.
